There is everything in our region a nature lover’s heart may seek: knolls and wide lowlands, bizarre rock formations and some of the last oases of nature. A petit landscape of low mountain ranges invites you to explore it.

You will come across many references of a history that is a 1000 years old. That will happen for example in the historic towns where the cobble stones on the market places could tell this or that story, and it will happen in museums and in villages where a folk architecture and many customs have been preserved. In those villages live people which may under a tough behaviour hide a kind-hearted person.

It is said, that people here were as hard as granite but true-blue. Their proverbial hospitability, anyway, is meanwhile known and famous far across the borders of the region of the Upper Lusatian half-timbered house. (JG)
